Dear Friends and Family,
I will begin with a recent blessing that reveals the power of God, grace of God, and love of God
all at the same time. A man came to the church compound looking for a preacher. His mother, a
witchdoctor, had fallen into a fire and was burned severely. People came from other churches at the
son’s request, but they could not reach her with salvation. Someone told the son, Isaac, to go to the
Baptists so he came looking for a preacher to tell his mother how to be saved. Gilbert went with him
about 8 miles to their village. When he shared the gospel, the woman was born again. Her life
immediately changed. With pain from bare bones and rotting flesh she was still able to rejoice in her
new Lord and salvation. It required three trips to the village to burn all things related to her being a
witchdoctor. All of her children but one had left her because of the evil things at home. The
remaining son came to UBC Sunday to thank the church for sending someone to share the gospel
with his mother. Pastor Alex asked him if he was saved. He responded he was not but would like to
be. Before a sermon was even preached, Isaac knelt in front of the church as Pastor Alex led him to
Christ. That is why we send missionaries around the world. Would you say Amen right there!
A Muslim man who brings us water has been attending the UBC in Buhimba for about 3 months. I
gave him a solar radio, and he listens everywhere he goes. Moses told me he found his Muslim wife
listening to his radio, and she shared she would like one. I gave him one for her. I figure you can’t
go wrong giving a Muslim a radio with only Christian programming on it. Moses told me he was in
church when the witchdoctor’s son was saved. He said he couldn’t believe it. Pray for Moses and
Sophora to get saved.
Julius told me about a man that called and shared that he and his family listen to his preaching
program every night. Even if their supper is ready they wait till the program finishes before eating.
Yesterday Gilbert showed me places on the map from where listeners to his program have called.
Some places were over 100 miles from the station. He gets many calls from listeners in the Congo
that don’t have a church or Bible.
On Monday we travel to Moyo to pay for the land and clear land for the building of NLR #2. We also
have a church that was started from personal evangelism that will be located on that land site.
Santo and Rashid are experiencing the blessing of God on their evangelistic campaigns. A month
ago in Bukono and Ngemwa 29 received Christ during door to door evangelism, eight were saved
during open air preaching, and 25 were saved during the video presentation. This team is now in the
northern part of Uganda. While heading north, the truck got stuck in the mud, and it took 16 men to
push them out. Santo preached to the rescuers, and five accepted Christ. Twenty were saved the
first day they ministered in Adjumani. This is the area we will be establishing the new radio station.
Tomorrow we will complete our first month of meetings in the new church in Hoima. The first
week we had 60 chairs borrowed from our ministry in Buhimba. That week we used our offerings and
bought 15 more. The following week we bought 15 more chairs and the next week ten more. People
have been saved in the invitation every week except one, and that week many responded in the
invitation with other decisions. Pray for adult families as the majority of those attending are
teenagers. How would you like to have 60 teens on Wednesday night praying?
Closing for now. Please check our new web site at www.eastafricaoutreach.org. If you would like
to receive our updates which come more often than prayer letters please request at

Dear Friends and Family,
I am going to begin this update with a summary of the evangelistic journey Santo and Rashid recently made.
I will give it to you as Santo gave it in his report to me. We left Buhimba at 6:00 AM exactly for Adjumani and
Moyo Districts. We had planned to begin evangelizing the first place called Pachara village but on the way our
vehicle got stuck in the mud. We remained there from 3:30 PM to the next morning at 8:40 AM when our vehicle
was dug out of the mud. We thought it was Satan that made us to get stuck in the mud but that next morning I
told Rashid that God was the one who wanted us to spend the night in the mud. This was after preaching to the
young men that dug us out and five of them getting saved there. Then on the road side, after leading them to
Christ, we left for Pachara and reached well. That night four adults got saved. During the next week we
preached in four different towns and villages. Forty-seven adults and ten children received Christ. Ten
backsliders were restored and many promised to get saved. I might add that they traveled 850 kilometers and
when they returned they had an empty gas tank and 2200 shillings which is less than one dollar.
Julius told me about a man who called him one night after his program was broadcast. The man said he was a
preacher from about 20 miles away. He told how he wanted to learn more but could only speak Runyoro. He
added that he had learned all he knew from listening to Julius on New Life Radio and that his Bible was full of
notes he had taken while listening. He requested that we start a church in his village that would preach the truth
of God’s Word. Julius had to tell him that we did not have a pastor to send. Please pray for more laborers.
We just finished our first month of ministering in the mission in Hoima. Week after week we have seen the
hand of God move people in various ways. A good number have been saved along with other public decisions
and confessions of sin. I talked today with a young man named Raymond. He had been saved and baptized, but
peer pressure had gotten the best of him. He went in one of the rooms and spent at least 20 minutes confessing
to God and getting clean. Gershon and Wilson made a commitment to come to UBBS in December. They said
they want to serve God and reach people with the truth. William quoted 24 verses word perfect in Runyoro along
with the books of the Bible to get a Bible of his own. In one week he had learned these carefully chosen verses I
had given him.
The land on Mt. Oce has been purchased, and plans are now being made to start the building and tower for
New Life Radio #2. Some broken, some repaired and some leftover pieces of equipment are being put together
for when the tower and building are ready. We have to get an additional license for the new station, costing
about $3500. There is no way I can tell you the potential this station will have in reaching people. Please pray
now for the Lord to prepare the soil of hearts so the seed will fall on good ground and bring forth fruit.
Ben Gygax, a young man from our home church in Madison, AL is here learning about missions. What
better way can you learn than being a missionary? He is preaching and teaching, and the young people are
responding like he never dreamed. Pray for him while he ministers here for two more months.
Let the Holy Spirit lead you as to how to pray for Tony and Kathy and the Lord’s work here in East Africa.
Thank you for all you do in helping us.

Dear Friends and Family,
Let me begin by sharing with you a number of answered prayers. Some of you have been praying with
us for a wife for Pastor Oleo in Masindi. Just recently he wrote us and said you can stop praying for a wife
and start praying for the shillings to pay the dowry. He is going to marry Julia who is a school teacher from
UBC in Wanseko. The pastor and wife who were having some struggles are back together. The UBBI student
who was accused and in prison has been set free. We had two new students in UBBI this term.
This past year has been very full and fruitful. We have made adjustments, improvements, and additions
to several ministries. Kathy started writing, printing and distributing the Messenger, an 8 page monthly
Christian periodical, in September. We hosted 4 sets of visitors ranging in stays from 3 days to 3
months. The following key events filled our calendar.

July 2010 Traveled to Moyo and purchased land on Mt. Oce for New Life Radio #2

March 2011 Tony and Kathy go back to the US for an 11 week furlough.
We have five children, 11 grandchildren, Kathy’s mother, my father and many others who would really
like some time with us. They never complain about us being gone but encourage and help us. I will be 63 this
month, and Kathy is 60 now. My problems with gout have returned, and my African affliction remains with
me. God is blessing abundantly, and we are enjoying His work. However a break will do us good and, in the
long run, will make us more effective. It is just the two of us travelling now, and the cost is not so high for
these modern days. I hope you can understand.
We will be home March 23rd to June 8th and will be staying with Andrew and Yesenia in Florence.
Our phone number will be 256-206-1174. If we can help you in any way please let me know. Thank you for
the sacrifices you make so we can do this work of the Lord together.
